Who is Isobel Cupcakes & Cookies?
Well, they are truly a family affair. We'll begin with Heather Holbrook, the dynamic and gifted creator, dedicated to artful creations that look as good as they taste.
Then there's Bruce, her husband. He's energetic, jovial and an impassioned Director of Operations. So who's Isobel? She's their lovely daughter McKenzie Isobel, so named after Bruce's grandmother. Here we have 3 generations and baked therein lies the philosophy of Isobel's Cupcakes & Cookies - take from the goodness of the past and create something great for the present.
Attention to detail is the order of the day. And then there’s Mika – Heather’s 'right hand'. Trained in Japan, Heather knew she could not do this without her. Mika’s flair for perfection is one like no other, and she will always refuse to put anything out that is less than perfect. Her "all or nothing" attitude is one that has been invaluable to Isobel’s Cupcakes and Cookies since Day 1. All baked goods must be of premium quality before being passes along to you.
With innovation and quality as her mandate, Heather began creating cookies for friends and families as gifts over 7 years ago. Her cookies not only looked fabulous with their hand-decorated designs but tasted incredibly delicious. It wasn't long before word spread and Heather was "up to her elbows" in requests for the scrumptious cookies. Eventually the price of success meant that Isobel's Cookies had to move to a larger location to keep up with customer demand for more cookies. Isobel's cookies can now be found throughout select locations in the Ottawa area, as well as making many guest appearances at product launches and corporate functions around the Nation's Capital.
Demand for Isobel's Cookies did not stem Heather's creative drive. In fact, it did the opposite. She was and is determined to use her expertise to improve upon old classics resulting, in expansion of her product line. In 2009, Isobel's Cookies opened up their retail location, Isobel's Cupcakes & Cookies and the world of baked goodness became a tastier place.
